Adil Rami was born in Bastia, France, and has enjoyed a stellar career in European Football. The 39-year-old ex-French defender has played in his native France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Russia, and Portugal. He has played for three different clubs in the French Ligue 1; Lille, Marseille, and recently Troyes. The 6ft 3 in centre-back who was born to Moroccan parents has hit back at Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments about the French Ligue 1.
Al Nassr forward C. Ronaldo recently said that the French Ligue 1 is all about PSG making it less competitive compared to the Saudi PRO league in Saudi Arabia. Hen went ahead and said that the other clubs are finished aside PSG.
“Cristiano Ronaldo said nonsense by saying Saudi Arabian League is better than French League 1,” Rami said.
“Is the Saudi Arabian League with overweight defenders better?
“I am a Ronaldo fan. However, having such a great career does not mean that everything he says is true. Ronaldo also spoke incorrectly,” Rami told RMC Sport.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid Winger has played in Portugal, England, Spain and Italy in Europe before moving to the Middle East.
Many think Ronaldo’s comments about the French Ligue 1 are a way of jabbing his perennial rival, Lionel Messi, who recently had a two-year stint with PSG.
