Prosper Ogum Narteh’s dream is to enjoy many years as the head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and win more trophies. Yaw Joachim Acheampong has a dream to prolong his stay at the Ogya Boys as the head coach, but this tie can make one of them a hero and extend his stay, and one can also end up as a villain.

The fixture has become one of the most difficult and highly competitive games in the Ghana Premier League for Aduana Stars since winning their first title in 2010.

Whenever Kotok touches down in Dormaa-Ahenkro, the fixture becomes fierce and intense. An electric atmosphere is expected on Sunday afternoon, with Aduana Stars hoping to make it 5 consecutive defeats for Asante Kotoko.

Yaw Acheampong is in trouble but sounded optimistic about beating Kotoko to probably end Ogum’s dream of winning another title.

“We know playing Kotoko is never an easy task, and we need players with character. This is not a game for jokes; we understand the significance of the match,” said Yaw Acheampong.

“We are fully aware of what lies ahead, and the result is crucial. We are doing our best to psych up the boys and motivate them. Last season, we were able to beat them here, and we have to do it again this season.”

Yaw Acheampong knows exactly the battle ahead as it can end his coaching career with Aduana Stars. The Ogya Boys have won just one game in their last 5, and it has intensified the pressure on the coach. Aduana contested for the title last season but has failed to show any glimpses of last season’s performance. The 2-1 victory over Kotoko last season in Dormaa Ahenkro will serve as a source of inspiration for the Ogya Boys

Asante Kotoko, on the other hand, has been so disastrous after losing 4 consecutive league games. The Porcupine Warriors had a great start to the season but have been falling freely. Teams are no longer afraid of them. The goalkeeping department has put Ogum in a huge dilemma as Camara and Asare have all failed to deliver to the level required recently. Fans demand the return of Frederick Asare as the number so Ogum has a huge decision to take.

Fans earlier in the week stormed Adako Jachie, Asante Kotoko’s training grounds and demanded Prosper Ogum to step aside because they see no improvement in the team. Luckily for the head coach, the IMC has given him their backing but expects him to help the team return to winning ways.

A defeat can end Ogum’s reign as many fans expect.

The fixture at Nana Agyeman Badu ll Stadium in Dormaa-Ahenkro is a very tricky one and it can end either coach’s dream.

The game kicks off at 3 pm on Sunday with both Prosper Nartey Ogum and Yaw Joachim Acheampong sitting on hot seats.
