The draw for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers was conducted on Thursday at the SuperSport Studios in South Africa by CAF.
Four times winners Ghana was grouped alongside Angola, Sudan and Niger in Group F.
The attention of the group will be on the Black Stars of Ghana’s meeting against Sudan managed by former Ghana defender and head coach, James Kwesi Appiah.
Ghana will play against minnows Niger who has missed the last 5 AFCONs. Niger’s only appearance in the AFCON was in 2012 and 2013 which was hosted by Equatorial Guinea and South Africa respectively.
Angola reached quarter-finals of the 2023 AFCON hosted by Ivory Coast and would love to have another fun in 2025.
The qualifiers will commence in September 2024 with each team set to play each other on home and away format. The top two of each group will win a ticket for the 2024 AFCON finals to be hosted by Morocco across December 2025 and January 2026.
