At the SuperSport Studios in Johannesburg, the draw for the 2025 AFCON to be played in Morocco was conducted with the big boys getting the draw they all hoped for.

A total of 48 teams took part in the draw with the teams grouped per their rankings. The top 12 ranked teams on the continent were put in Pot 1 while the next 12 best ranked teams on the continent were slotted in Pot 2.

In Pot 3 were the teams ranked from 25 to 36 while the teams in Pot D were the last 12 ranked teams by CAF.

In the groups, all will play all with the top two teams qualifying for the tournament.

Morocco is the host hence the top two teams aside Morocco in Goup B will qualify for the tournament.

Three times winers of the tournament, Nigeria landed in Group D alongside Libya, Benin and Rwanda.

Ghana who are yet to lift the coveted trophy since 1978 will in Group F face Sudan, Angola and Niger.

The most successful team on the continent, Egypt, is grouped in C with Cape Verde, Botswana and Mauritania.
