2025 AFCON will be played across December 2025 and January 2026 in Morocco. The draw for the qualifiers was done on Thursday 2nd July at the SuperSport Studios in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Group F saw Ghana, Niger, Sudan and Angola drawn together to compete for two slots for the finals of the tournament.

Niger’s head coach, Badou Ezzaki, 67, has revealed that Ghana is not as strong as previous years.

“We are in an affordable group. We have every chance of qualifying. For me, Ghana is a football country with a selection with great professionals. But it is not the team of 5 or 6 years ago,” the Moroccan said.

Ghana indeed has hit rock bottom with recent performances been disastrous. In the last two AFCONs, Ghana has failed to progress to the knockout stage making Ezzaki Badou’s comments spot on.

Niger have failed to qualify for any of the last 5 AFCONs so Ezzaki Badou also has a huge job to qualify Niger for their third AFCON. Niger played in the 2012 and 2013 AFCONs.
