It’s less than 18 hrs before the big kick off in Benghazi at the Benina Martyrs Stadium and the pressure has already been mounting on both teams.

Per TV3’s Kelvin Owusu Ansah, the Sudanese FA has reported Ghana to CAF delegation and Lybian Authorities in charge of the Benina Martyrs stadium after identifying foreign material on the playing surface in Benghazi.

The Sudanese entourage saw feathers, garlic and onion on the pitch and on the bench after the Black Stars finished their training session.

Ghana and Sudan’s clash could not be played without controversies. It started with Sudan not feeling comfortable with their head coach being member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association. CAF reacted by forcing Kwesi Appiah to step aside from his role with the Black Stars.

The first leg ended goalless on Thursday afternoon in Accra and the return leg is expected to be so competitive because the winner will almost takes all.

Sudan host Ghana in Week 4 of the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers on Thursday, October 15, 2024 at 1pm. (13:00 GMT).
