Atalanta and Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman was crowned African Footballer of the Year 2024.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a wonderful 2024 after helping Nigeria to reach the finals of the 2025 AFCON.

Lookman also assisted Atalanta win the UEFA Europa League after scoring an unforgettable hattrick in the 3-0 win for Atalanta at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

The Nigerian forward has continued his fine form in the current season after putting up unbelievable performances, helping Atalanta sit at the top of the Italian Serie A.

In other categories, Zambia’s Barbara Banda was named Women’s African Footballer of the Year.

Ivory Coast’s Emerse Fae was named the Coach of the Year after helping Ivory Coast win AFCON 2023.

Al Ahly and TP Mazembe, who won the Men’s CAF Champions League and Women’s CAF Champions League, were crowned the clubs Clubse Year.
