Preparations towards the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup are underway, with clubs ready to make a huge name for themselves.
Al Ahly, Esperance Sportive de Tunis, Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydayd Casablanca are the teams set to represent Africa. The 32-team tournament will be competitive and entertaining, according to the organizers, FIFA.
Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami are in Group A alongside Al Ahly from Cairo, Brazillian giants Palmeiras and Portuguese outfit FC Porto. Inter Miami will play the opening game of the competition against Al Ahly.
Messi’s long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr will not be in action, and the Egyptian giants have discussed the possibility of signing the legendary Portugues on a six-month deal for the tournament.
Al Ahly board members suggested to President Mahmoud El Khatib to try and sign Cristiano Ronaldo on a six-month loan deal for the Club World Cup tournament to be hosted in the USA, per news from Cairo.
Everybody would love the possibility of probably the two best players ever facing each other once again in the opening game of the competition.
The 2025 World Cup will be played between June 14 and July 13th.
