Founder and bankroller of King Faisal Babes, Alhaji Grusah has advised the newly elected president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama and his government to dismiss the president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku only if they want something good for the nation’s football.
Kurt Okraku and his administration have come under severe criticism since the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON to be played in December 2025 and January 2026.
Ghana finished at the bottom of a group containing Angola, Sudan and Niger and even failed to record a single victory in the six games played during the Morocco 2025 qualifiers.
In an interview on ASEMPA FM, Alhaji Karim Grusah said, “How can Ghana end up at the bottom of a group with Niger, Sudan, and Angola? This is simply not acceptable. If the government is serious about improving football in Ghana, they must dismiss Kurt Okraku and the entire GFA. FIFA cannot penalize us for removing them from power. We must be honest with ourselves”.
Kurt Okraku and his administration cannot complain if Ghanaians call for their dismissal because they have failed to help the nation develop in terms of football.
Kurt is in his second term which is due to end in 2027 but rumors say that the president is thinking of enjoying a third term which is contrary to what the GFA constitution says. The constitution says that no one should sit on the seat for more than 8 years regardless of the achievements.
Black Stars had a disastrous 2024 and will seek to improve in 2025 to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup which will resume in March.
