The pains of not qualifying for the 36th edition of the AFCON are indescribable, as almost every Ghanaian has expressed his/her disappointment.

Skipper for the Black Stars, Andre Ayew, has expressed his disappointment in seeing Ghana miss Morocco 2025.

He wrote on X, “It’s truly heartbreaking that Ghana has been eliminated from AFCON, but this setback doesn’t change the fact that Ghana’s football legacy stands strong.

“Our history in African football continues to elevate the national team. Ghana remains one of the continent’s most successful teams, with four trophies to our name — something many nations have yet to achieve even once. This elimination doesn’t define us, and it certainly doesn’t diminish our status. Ghana remains one of the best teams in Africa”, Dede Ayew said.

Ghana undoubtedly is one of the superpowers of Africa in terms of football after winning 4 AFCONs and having qualified for four World Cups.

The Black Stars in Group F failed to beat any of Niger, Sudan and Angola in the quick-fire format in the qualifiers.
