Those with tactical eyes know that Antoine Semenyo’s type is not many in world football. The 25-year-old is so good with both feet with fans always debate over which of his feet is his dominant one.
Antoine Semenyo is so blessed with many techniques: dribbling, ambidexterity, pace, aggression, movement, shooting, power and positioning. Semenyo has all these wonderful qualities, which set him apart from many footballers. He is simply an amazing footballer by all standards.
The forward moved to Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023 in a deal worth 10M pounds. The then 23-year-old had shown much potential in the English Championship and was predicted to be a super player i the near future.
In Fulham’s defeat at Bournemouth, where he scored in the first minute to condemn the London club to a 1-0 defeat, Semenyo showed how good he is, with Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher and Thierry Henry praising his unmatched qualities. He was quizzed on how effective he is with both feet and his ability to play in many positions.
Semenyo said, “I’m the comfortable guy on the left, right, centre or behind a striker. Wherever the gaffer wants me to play, I will.”
The Ghanaian has been ordered by his imperious Spanish manager, Andoni Iraola, to play on the left-hand side of attack, on the right side of attack and also as the main striker in the season. Also, he sometimes plays right behind a striker, making him a useful player to the club.
Semenyo is being courted by Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea due to stellar performances this season. The club has warned potential suitors that they will pay more than the 65M pounds they sold Domink Solanke to Tottenham Hotspur in last summer’s transfer window.
