At the City Ground in Nottingham, Nuno Espirito Santo’s Forest drew 1-1 against Bournemouth in their opening game of the 2024-25 season.

Nottingham Forest took the lead through Chris Wood who was in the right place at the right time to get to the rebound inside the box and shot the ball low to the right post in the 23rd minute.

Bournemouth in the 32nd minute thought they had restored parity after Dango Ouattara beat Nottingham Forest’s goalkeeper from a close range but VAR declared the goal offside.

Bournemouth went to the brake a goal down wondering where goals will come from after the sale of star striker Solanke to Spurs.

The attack of Sinistera, Tavernier, Ouattara and Semenyo paraded by Andoni Iraora needed to step up in the second half.

In the 62nd minute, Forest came close to scoring their second after Willy Boly’s powerful header from a corner kick was saved by Neto.

Chances were not created again with Santo feeling he had won his first three points of the season.

Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo who was leading Bournemouth’s attack had different plan to spoil Forest’s party.

The 24-year-old tapped home from the goal line after a lucky rebound fell to him. The goal broke Forest as they were just two minutes away from the 90 to end the game.

Among the 8 Ghanaian players in the 2024-25 English Premier League season, Antoine Semenyo is the first to score a goal.
