The former skipper of Black Stars Asamoah Gyan has shared his opinion on Andre Ayew’s exclusion from Otto Addo’s squad to face Mali and Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Otto Addo named his squad for Ghana’s crucial games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the biggest omission was captain Andre Dede Ayew.

“Andre has done so much for Ghana. The coach has made his decision.
This is a situation we have to move on from,” said Gyan.

Baby Jet praised Andre Ayew and urged Ghanaians to move from his situation because it has taken the attention from the games against Mali and the Central African Republic.

“If it was me, I wouldn’t be happy but we have to support the coach’s decision,” added Gyan.

Gyan disclosed that he wouldn’t be happy if he was Andre Ayew because every player wishes to play for his national team all the time.

He urged Ghanaians to support coach Otto Addo’s decision.

Ghana will face Mali and Central African Republic in MD3 and 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June.
