The will-he-wont-he contract saga of Asante Kotoko’s skipper Justice Blay is finally over. The former Medeama midfielder has extended his stay at Asante Kotoko to 2026 after all parties agreed to a new one-year deal.
The midfielder cum defender’s contract was due to expire in January 2025 and Asante Kotoko was running out of time to keep the star man.
According to rumours, Justice Blay refused to accept Kotoko’s offer of an additional 500 cedis to his monthly salary for another year’s contract renewal because the money did not meet his terms.
On Thursday, Asante Kotoko announced the agreement reached between the two parties.

The club skipper expressed his delight by thanking the club and the entire Asanteman. Also, he thanked the club patron, Otumfuor Osei II.
His stay has delighted the Kotoko fraternity with head coach Prosper Ogum expressing his delight about one one his chief lieutenants staying.
