The Royals’ 2-1 victory over the Porcupine Warriors at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in the postponed clash in the first round still hurts the Fabulous family because they did not expect to taste that defeat.

Kotoko was unbeaten then, Legon Cities were winless then, and it was a game of contrasting fortunes but the minnows ended the day smiling.

After a month and a week-long break from the Ghana Premier League, the Porcupine Warriors will have the opportunity to start the wins they have promised the late Nana Pooley.

Pooley did not take lightly Kotoko’s defeat against Legon Cities because he considered the game a foregone conclusion for his beloved Kotoko.

A huge opportunity has presented itself for the club to revenge the shocking defeat to Legon Cities, which was then managed by Paa Kwesi Fabian to make Pooley, their biggest hyper smile.

Ahead of Kotoko’s first competitive game in 35 days, head coach Prosper Ogum has urged his men to be more determined and have a revengeful mind facing Legon Cities.

“We are going into the game with a very confident and determined approach because they were the very first team that defeated us in the first round, and after that, we lost three more games.

Legon Cities’ 2-1 defeat of Kotoko sparked another three consecutive defeats, which put Prosper Ogum on the brink of exit.

“Tactically, we have done a lot to make sure that on Sunday, we play strongly and very aggressively to make sure we get the three points. Physically, we are in good shape, and tactically, we are in good shape, so we are ready,” Prosper concluded.

Legon Cities narrowly lost 1-0 at Medeama before the league was suspended. They had won their last two games against Dreams and Bibiani Gold Stars to end their disastrous run, so they have all it takes to challenge Fabulous.

The Royals are in a real relegation fight as Asante Kotoko is contending for the title.

Asante Kotoko will host Legon Cities on Sunday at 3 pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
