Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has completed a loan move to Belgian Pro League side RAAL La Louvière, marking a fresh chapter in his career as he looks to rediscover rhythm and influence in familiar surroundings.

The 27-year-old joins La Louvière from fellow Belgian club RSC Anderlecht on a deal that will keep him at the club until June 2026. The move reunites Ashimeru with regular top-flight football in Belgium, where he has previously enjoyed some of the most productive spells of his career.

At La Louvière, Ashimeru will also link up with compatriot Jerry Afriyie, adding a Ghanaian flavour to the squad as the club battles to secure its Pro League status. Club officials believe the midfielder’s experience and creativity could prove vital in the second half of the campaign.

Ashimeru, a full Ghana international, is widely admired for his energy, close control and ability to drive play from midfield. He rose to prominence in Belgium with Red Bull Salzburg’s feeder club FC Liefering before impressing during his earlier spell at Anderlecht, where he became a key part of their midfield rotation.

The loan move offers Ashimeru a chance to reset and make a strong impact, while giving La Louvière a proven top-flight performer in their fight for survival.

For the Black Stars midfielder, it is an opportunity to remind Belgian football of his qualities and, as the club’s announcement suggested, to show once again why “the Maker” remains a player capable of shaping games at the highest level.
