The Ghana Police Service is on a manhunt for perpetrators who have defaced the newly painted Asokwa interchange.

The gorgeous mural, which has won the attention and respect of Ghanaians, has unfortunately been partially disfigured.

Under an initiative spearheaded by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, as part of the 2026 AshantiFest, a large mural was created on the Asokwa Interchange in Kumasi by some selected Visual Arts students of Senior High Schools across the Ashanti Region.

On Wednesday morning, the people of Asokwa and the users of the interchange spotted that the paintings had been marred.

Authorities reacted and reported the case to the police, where they have announced that they are looking for the destroyers of the beautiful mural.

“They did the same to Kwame Nkrumah. They love their party more than the country! Shame!” the Ashanti Regional Minister wrote on his Facebook wall. Nobody can pinpoint who exactly the minister referred to with is write up.
