Moussa Diaby was on a £6.7 million yearly salary at Aston Villa when he joined from Bayer Leverkusen in the 2023 summer for a deal around €40 million.

Aston Villa’s record signing Moussa Diaby will join Al Ittihad in a deal worth around €60million (£50.6m; $65.3m).

The 24-year-old is set to receive a gross earnings of £20 million per year in Saudi Arabia.

Aston Villa fans might initially feel dissapointed but when they sit down and do proper analysis, they will feel Diaby could not reject the offer.

From 6.7 mill pounds to 20 mill pounds, few footballers will reject such a lifetime offer.

The deal is considered a win-win situation to all the parties with Villa set to make almost €20m profit in a space of 12 months. Diaby is almost tripling his salary while the Saudi PRO League is getting one of their main targets.
