As part of her ongoing commitment to social welfare and inclusive development, the Member of Parliament for Atiwa West constituency in the Eastern Region, Korkor Asante, on Monday, December 29, 2025, reached out to some of the most vulnerable groups within her constituency with a major humanitarian gesture.
The event, held at Kwabeng, brought together about 400 widows, widowers and persons living with disabilities (PWDs) drawn from various communities across the Atiwa West Constituency.

The Beneficiaries received assorted food items and cash support aimed at easing the financial pressures often associated with the festive season.
The initiative forms part of the MP’s long-standing social intervention programmes, which seek to cushion vulnerable groups against economic hardship, particularly during periods such as Christmas when household expenses tend to rise.

According to Korkor Asante, the gesture was not only about material support but also about restoring dignity, hope and a sense of belonging among disadvantaged members of society.
Addressing the gathering, the Atiwa West legislator emphasized the importance of compassion and collective responsibility, noting that the strength of any community is measured by how well it supports its weakest members.

She described widows, widowers and persons with disabilities as integral members of society whose resilience in the face of daily challenges deserves recognition and support.
“This season reminds us of the need to share love and kindness. Supporting the vulnerable is not just a duty but a moral responsibility we all share,” she stated, adding that such interventions would continue as part of her broader commitment to inclusive development in the constituency.

The beneficiaries, many of whom expressed gratitude, commended the MP for remembering them during the festive season, describing the support as timely and impactful.
Some noted that the assistance would help them celebrate Christmas with dignity despite prevailing economic challenges.
