A man suspected of stealing a motorbike has been lynched to death by an angry mob at Awutu Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.

The mob not only lynched him but also chopped off his testicles.

According to reports, the suspect and an accomplice allegedly hired an Okada rider from Esikaso in the Eastern Region under the pretence of travelling to Awutu Bawjiase.

The suspects reportedly attacked the rider with a stick and fled with his motorbike upon reaching the outskirts of the town.

However, the victim managed to get assistance from another Okada rider and pursued the suspects.

It is reported that the chase continued until one of the suspects was apprehended by a group of Okada riders in the middle of the road. The second suspect reportedly escaped.

According to the Assembly Member, the angry riders assaulted the captured suspect and, in the process, mutilated him by severing his testicles.

He was later rescued by officers from the Awutu Bawjiase District Police Command and rushed to the Awutu Bawjiase Polyclinic, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival due to the severity of his injuries. Investigations are underway.
