Spanish football giants Barcelona are on the cusp of signing 17-year-old Ghanaian left-back David Oduro, demonstrating the club’s dedication to scouting and nurturing promising talent worldwide.

According to European football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona is finalizing the deal for Oduro, born in 2006, who will join their renowned La Masia academy from Accra Lions.

He is notably the first player to sign directly with Barcelona from Ghana, reflecting the club’s expanding global reach in youth recruitment.

Oduro’s impressive performances with Accra Lions caught Barcelona’s attention, leading to an invitation for a trial at La Masia.

The young defender underwent a series of rigorous fitness tests and participated in training sessions alongside Barcelona’s rising stars, displaying his skillset and potential.

A 2021 graduate of Achimota School, Oduro had previously spent two weeks on trial at Chelsea, attracting interest from clubs such as Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Sociedad.

Known for his crossing ability, sprinting speed, and versatility on the pitch, Oduro has made a strong impression on Barcelona’s coaching staff, who recognize his significant potential as a future star.

This move marks a pivotal moment in his budding career as he embarks on a new chapter in Europe with Barcelona, aiming to make his mark in one of the world’s most competitive football environments.
