Golden State Warriors’ recent success was incredible and indescribable.

Talented team of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green among many others played a wonderful part in the four titles they swooped in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022.

One of Steve Kerr’s long-existing allies decided to end his 13-year marriage with the Dub Nation after both parties failed to agree on a new contract.

The 2011 First Round 11th overall pick, Thompson, 34, moved to the Dallas Mavericks before the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.

On his return to the Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors celebrated their former son with all the love, admiration and respect Thompson deserved. He finished with 22 points, which matched his season-high, and he shot 6-of-12 from behind the arc. He added four rebounds and three assists, too.

Stephen Curry stole the show by running it like he has done all these years on the opening night of the NBA Cup. He helped Golden State Warriors grabbed a 120-117 win. Curry went on a solo 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter to put the Mavericks on the sword.

The night looked like a party because one of the darling sons of the Dub Nations returned home, but he went back to Dallas empty-handed.
