The race for the NPP flagbearers role has become so intense that many top officials of the party have declared their support have declared their support to their preferred candidate.

The fight between Alhaji Bawumia, Bryan Acheampong, Yaw Adutwum, Kennedy Agyapong and Kwabena Agyapong has promised to be tough, with everyone fancying his chance to lead the party in the 2028 General Election.

With the campaign underway, Dr Bawumia’s visit to the Eastern Region over the weekend has been described as a huge success with delegates in Akwatia, Akroso, Kade and the other areas in Eastern declaring their support for the former vice president.

Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Otchere Baafi, has declared his support for Dr Bawumia and also advised the delegates to vote for him.

“The 31 January election is not a joke. It is crucial, and we need an experienced person. We need someone who has been well-marketed and is well known by Ghanaians. That person is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” Otchere Baafi said.

Multiple reports say that Alhaji Bawumia is leading the race. 31st January 2006 will decide who will lead the NPP.
