The domestic football in Ghana is in a mess now but the rivalry between true and true Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak fans remains the same.
The animosity between the two clubs always manifests the moment one of the two hears good news or is enjoying good moments.
The call-up to the national team of Hearts of Oak goalkeeper has been celebrated across the count but the Porcupine Warriors family seems to not be happy.
The General Manager of Access Bank Division One League side Okwahu United and former Asante Kotoko supporters’ chief, Nana Kwame Dankwah, has advised Accra Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare to consider a move to Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Benjamin Asare, 32, is the first-choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars, following an unbelievable debut with the national team in March in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
The goalkeeper’s impressive performances in the recent FIFA World Cup qualifiers have propelled him to stardom, and Asante Kotoko wants him to join them to enjoy a wonderful life.
Speaking as a panellist on the Hot Focal Sports show hosted by Ebenezer Amuzu on Hot 93.9 FM, Nana Kwame Dankwah passionately argued that joining Kumasi Asante Kotoko would be in Benjamin Asare’s best interest.
“Benjamin Asare should consider joining Asante Kotoko so that he can enjoy a wonderful career. Hearts of Oak has nothing better for him,” Nana Kwame Dankwah said.
