After having a very horrible six days with the Ghanaian national team in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, Inaki Williams did not take long to shake of the disaster.
Ghana failed to score a single goal in the two crucial games against Sudan even with so many fine forwards in Otto Addo’s squad.
On Saturday afternoon, one of Ghana’s forwards stepped up and helped Athletic Bilbao smashed Espanyol 4-1 in Week 10 of the Spanish Laliga.
The 30-year-old Ghanaian forward scored in the 28th and the 30th minutes to put Athletic Bilbao into a commanding 3-0 lead after his younger brother, Nico had assisted Dani Vivian’s 6th minute opener.
Alex Berenguer scored the 4th goal in the 55th minute for Bilbao. Alvaro Tejeho’s 92nd minute sumptuos free kick pulled one back for Espanyol but it was too late for the Catalan club.
Inaki has scored three goals and provided four assists in ten games for Bilbao so far this season. The club has moved to 4th position on the league log having won 17 points from possible 30.
