Finally, the Nigeria Football Federation has gotten a coach for the Super Eagles.

Many Nigerians have been wondering what exactly was happening with the NFF failing to appoint a new coach for the senior national team.

Head coach Finidi George left his role after failing to win against Benin and South Africa in the Matchday 3 and 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The pressure from all angles forced the NFF and Finidi George to part ways as it has taken the NFF a whopping four months to replace him.

German tactician Bruno Labbadia has been appointed as the new coach of the Super Eagles.

The former Bayern Munich striker is a household name in the German Bundesliga after coaching teams like Bayer Leverkusen, Hamburg SV, VFB Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin among others.

Labbadia, 58, is due to bring back Nigeria into contention for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after trailing Rwanda, South Africa and Benin 4 points each.

He is expected to comfortably lead Nigeria to Morocco for the 2025 AFCON.

The German tactifian has signed two years for Nigeria. Twelve days before Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign begins with a home Group D tie against neighboring Benin in Uyo, Labbadia assumes leadership. Three days later, the team plays away in Rwanda.
