At the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon, Nsoatreman, the MTN FA Cup winners will welcome Algerian giants Constantine in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Yaw Preko’s Nsoatreman dismantled Chadian side Elect Sport 5-0 on aggregate to book a place in the play off. Nsoatreman in their debut campaign expects to reach the ‘Money Zone’ hence must record a good scoreline in the first leg.

Algerian opponents are the most dangerous sides to Ghanaian clubs as they do extremely well than the other clubs from other countries against Ghanaian teams.

The last time a Ghanaian club faced Algerian club in the Confederation
Cup was Hearts of Oak against Saoura in the final play off of the 2021-22 season. Phobia won 2-0 in the first leg through Salifu Ibrahim and Agyenim Boateng’s second half strikes. Samuel Boadu’s side was destroyed 4-0 in the second leg in Algeria.

Constantine is a very good team after finishing third in the Algerian Ligue in the 2023-24 season after winning 53 points same as second placed Belouizdad. Head to Head seperated the two clubs making Nsoatreman’s opponents a difficult side.

Constantine defeated Police of Rwanda home and away 4-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals of the playoff to set up the Nsoatreman clash.

A tough fixture is expected at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon.
