In El Jadida at the Ben M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium, debutants TP Mazembe shocked the Moroccan side AS FAR to lift their first-ever CAF Women’s Champions League title.

The winners of the 2022 edition were the overwhelming favourites in the finals as they have experience at this level.

A good start for TP Mazembe helped them win a penalty which was calmly converted by Marlene Yav Kasaj in the 10th minute. The Congolese champions defended with everything for the last 80 minutes.

AS FAR finished third place last year after beating Ampem Darkowaa Ladies 2-0. They were determined to lift their second title to equal Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies’ impressive record, but TP Mazembe were more determined than the Moroccans.

TP Mazembe Women’s Football Club was established just four years ago but has seen success upon success after winning the DR Congo Women’s Championship on three occasions. The Champions League title will be the proudest moment of their history.
