The Minority in Parliament has urged the ruling government to take decisive actions to ensure that the appreciation of the Ghanaian cedi against the US dollar must positively impact the lives of Ghanaian citizens.

Led by the Deputy Minority Leader, Patricia Appiagyei, she appreciated the Cedi’s recent performance against the UD dollar but questioned the hardship Ghanaians are still going through.

“Everybody is happy that the cedi has become very strong, the exchange rate is coming down, but what is its effect on the cost of living despite the gains that we are experiencing?”

“It is important that certain actions are taken to ensure that the downward trend of the cedi to the dollar will have a reflection on the cost of living in our country,” Mama Pat said.

Ghanaians are praising the John Mahama-led government for its great performance against the dollar but demand it reflected in the prices of goods and services.
