A group of approximately ten armed young men and a woman with a baby strapped to her back entered the Akoti Health Centre in Assin Wurakese, located in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region, and violently assaulted a patient who was receiving treatment, resulting in the patient falling into a coma.

Per a video circulating on social media, Nurses evacuated the area during this incident.

The incident reportedly took place following a violent confrontation between a man named Yaw Buabeng and a couple, during which both sides allegedly caused injuries to each other with a cutlass.

Buabeng was taken to the health facility for treatment due to significant bleeding from injuries to his head and hand.

Reports indicate that while nurses were attending to him, armed individuals carrying machetes, sticks, and clubs entered the facility and attacked Buabeng.

The Ghana Police Service have commenced an investigation into the barbaric incident.
