Six suspects have reportedly escaped from lawful custody at Kotokuraba Police Station in the Central Region.

The suspects Kofi Asifuah, Ernest Kojo, Ekow Arhinful, Toffic Faisal, Henry Kwofie and Innusah Addai, who are currently on the run, allegedly broke jail around 9:00 pm on September 11, 2025.

They are said to have overpowered an Inspector on duty.

It is reported that the Central Regional Police Command received information through the District Police Commander that six out of eight suspects who were arrested for various criminal offences had escaped.

According to reports, the Supervising Inspector at the Kotokuraba Police Station had sent the Station Orderly to buy food for the inmates after they complained of hunger.

It is alleged that the inmates later requested water to flush the WC as the taps were not flowing.

In the process of opening the cell door to give them water, six of the eight suspects overpowered the Inspector and fled.

The District Commander, upon receiving the information, is said to have led a night patrol team in search of them, but efforts proved futile.

The Central Regional Police Command has appealed to the public to provide any credible information that will lead to the recapture of the suspects.
