Chelsea has completed their first major signing ahead of the 2025-26 season after sealing a deal worth £30M for a 22-year-old English striker.

Liam Delap scored 12 goals for the lowly Ipswich Town and showed great glimpses with his pace and constant pressing.

Manchester United was the first team to have shown an interest in Delap but the young English man snubbed them because of Chelsea’s project and slot for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Ipswich Town’s season was so disastrous but Delap eas a standout performer which caught the eyes of the top teams.

Delap is expected to join Chelsea’s squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup to be played in the USA.
