Yesterday

Wout Werghost scored late in the second half to ensure an important 2-1 win for Netherlands over Poland. Buska opened the scoring with a power header from Zielinski’s corner. Cody Gakpo’s deflected effort ensured the Dutch levelled the score in the first half. Substitute Wout Werghost scored the winner for the Netherlands to delight Ronald Koeman.

Christian Eriksen’s first-half strike for Denmark was cancelled by Janza in the second half to help Slovenia steal a precious point.

Jude Bellingham’s beautiful header was enough to ensure a good start for the Three Lions against Serbia. England won 1-0 even though it was not a performance they would love so much.

Monday

Romania play Ukraine in the Allianz Arena at 1 pm. Ukraine are the favourite for this fixture with many young talents available and ready to make Romania suffer. Chelsea’s Mudryk, Arsenal’s Zinchenko and Girona’s star striker Dovbyk are all available to make Romania struggle.

Domenico Tedesco’s new Belgium start their tournament against Slovakia. The Red Devils’ golden generation is almost dead as Lukaku, Carasco and Kevin De Bruyne are the only active players left in this team. New blood like Doku and Charles De Katalere are expected to be Belgium’s next big stars.

France, the bookmaker’s favourites has not won the Euros since 2000 and is ready to end the 24-year wait. This is the best team in Europe as they have consistency and self-belief after playing in 3 of the finals of the last 4 major tournaments. Didier Deschamps’s charges have an incredible spine of Maignan, Konate, Camavinga, Griezzman and Skipper Mbappe. Austria will miss Alaba dearly but has enough quality to fight France. Konrad Laimer and Arnautovic are two excellent players that can make a huge difference for Austria.
