2024 is finally over for the Black Stars as the last rankings for the year from FIFA saw Ghana sitting in 77th position in the world.

The Black Stars also remain the 14th-ranked team in the CAF region signalling how horrible the team has fared throughout the year.

Ghana won just two games in the entire 2024, making it probably the worst year in the history of the Black Stars.

The two wins came during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers match days 3 and 4 against Mali in Bamako and Central African Republic in Kumasi.

Ghana in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers failed to win any of the six games played against lower-ranked teams like Sudan, Niger and Angola losing three and drawing three.

In the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire, the Black Stars under Chris Houghtona lost against Cape Verde and drew against Egypt and Mozambique. Ghana failed to progress to the knockout stage.

In friendly games, the Black Stars lost to Nigeria and drew against Uganda and Namibia.

These results are unacceptable so it is no surprising to see Ghana end the year as the 77th-ranked team by FIFA and 14th by CAF.
