Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, 82, is a senior citizen and has held important positions in Ghana. He was the president of the Ghana Football Association from 2001 to 2005 and Ghana’s ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro between 2005 and 2009.
In an interview with Graphic Sports, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe made it clear that he will not sit down and watch Kurt contests for third term after rumours have it that the GFA boss is planning to extend his stay.
“I won’t allow anyone to tinker with the GFA statute after the sacrifices I made to ensure that the position is based on merit through elections.
“Positions tend to corrupt people in this country, and when you extend the term, the corruption becomes even worse”, Nyaho said.
It is simple, no one should stay more than 8 years as the president of the Ghana Football Association but Kurt Okraku and his camp are planning to extend his stay at the helm.
“I was the architect of the two-term limit for the FA presidency, and I will not allow anyone to topple the statute to serve their personal agenda.”
Nyaho Tamakloe led the fight for the president of the Ghana Football Association to enjoy a maximum of eight years and he is very dissapointed with the news that the current administration wants an extra term.
“If they attempt to change the tenure, I will fight it with all my strength. It was my recommendation that compelled the FA to adopt this policy”, Nyaho concluded.
Ghana football has seen an unbelievable decline under this administration so many people are wondering why Kurt and co want to extend their stay.
Experienced Ghanaian football figures like Alhaji Grunsah, Kudjoe Fianoo, Abbey Pobee and George Afriyie have all revealed that they will not allow the current administration to continue their work signalling that something huge is wrong somewhere.
