Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman Badu has waxed lyrical about Ghana’s new captain, Jordan Ayew after the impressive display in rounds 5 and 6 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Ghana thrashed Chad and Madagascar 5-0 and 3-0, respectively, with skipper Jordan Ayew playing a very key role in both games.

In the 5-0 humbling of the lowly Chad, the son of the legendary Abedi Ayew Pele scored and assisted.

In the 3-0 win over Madagascar, he beautifully assisted all three goals.

“He is very calm. He has a strong mentality, and when you play with him, you will know the kind of guy he is.

“Now the issue of captaincy has also been sorted and you have the likes of Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan there. Straight away, we are going to America; the job is done,” Badu told TV3.

Jordan Ayew’s contribution in the two games was immense. The calmness around the team was so good and Ghanaians expect it to continue for a long time.

Ghana tops Group I and has every chance to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as they have their own destiny in their hands.
