Former French World Cup winning midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes that Manchester United’s skipper, Bruno Fernandes highlights the major problems at Manchester United.

“For me, Bruno Fernandes is a player that highlights the problems at Man Utd. Most of the time, I don’t like the way he behaves on the pitch. He acts like a diva,” Petit said.

Bruno, 30, has been the skipper for Manchester United for two seasons. The Portuguese midfielder has been very on and off for the club as he will play like Maradona today and play like amateur tomorrow.

Petit continued, “He doesn’t help or encourage his team-mates when the chips are down. When Man Utd are suffering, he’s always crying; always showing his disappointment. That is not what you expect from your captain. You’re expecting more encouragement, leadership. Someone that brings positivity.

Bruno Fernandes’ leadership role has been questioned many times my many pundits and fans because he easily gets disappointed when things are tough for the Red Devils.

“United’s best players have been the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. It would be a bold move, but If I’m Ten Hag, maybe I would make a strong decision and appoint the future of the club as my captain.

‌ “Mainoo is young, but he’s English. He’s establishing himself in the national team. He’s the pride of the fans at Old Trafford,” Emmanuel Petit added.

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are two young talents from the Manchester United academy that have exceeded expectations and Petit thinks one of them should be made the captain.
