It’s 1,100 days exactly since that incident and Christian Eriksen in his return to the European Champions scored for Denmark against Slovenia. The Manchester United midfielder was assisted by Wind early in the game and he calmly scored to put Denmark ahead.

It was so emotional for Denmark fans to see their favourite son smiling.

Slovenia started Benjamin Sesko in attack alongside Sporar and was very solid and compact as their 4-4-2 formation worked to perfection. Denmark dominated the first half of the game but couldn’t create clear-cut chances. Denmark went to the first half leading by a lone goal.

Slovenia kept their shape so nicely making things difficult for the Danes early in the second half.
