Thomas Partey started from the bench against Nottingham Forest, replacing Jorginho in the 46th minute.

Bukayo Saka, in the 52nd minute, laid a good pass to the Ghanaian forward, who scored from a distance to make the score 2-0. Saka opened the scoring with a fine strike inside the eight-yard box in the first half, with youngster Ethan Nwaneri adding the third to round up a good afternoon for the Gunners.

The Ghanaian midfielder missed November’s international break after head coach Otto Addo decided not to give him an invitation. Many expected him to start for Arsenal but Jorginho got the nod. Partey’s introduction in the second half helped Arteta strengthen the midfield, and he ended the day with a goal. Arsenal recorded their 2000th league win in the 3-0 smashing of Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners won their first league game in five and have closed the points gap to 6 against the leaders Liverpool, who play against Southampton on Sunday.

Jordan Ayew scored a late penalty for the struggling Leicester City who lost 2-1 at the King Power Stadium against Chelsea.

The goal helped Jordan become the Ghanaian with the most goals (40) in EPL history. He has played for Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and recently joined Leicester City.
