A violent incident occurred at the training facility of French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, where fans attacked the team bus carrying players, including the Ghana national team members Abdul Salis Samed and Kojo Oppong Peprah.
The attack happened after Nice’s 3-1 loss to Lorient, which marked their sixth consecutive defeat, dropping them to 10th place in the league standings.
The fans, numbering around 400, gathered at the entrance of the training facility and assaulted the bus, targeting players Jeremie Boga and Terem Moffi, as well as Sporting Director Florian Maurice.
Boga and Moffi have been placed on sick leave due to injuries sustained during the attack.
Oppong Peprah, 21, is in his first full season with Nice and played 61 minutes in the loss to Lorient, while Salis Samed played 68 minutes.
Salis Samed has been part of the Black Stars since the 2022 World Cup and joined Nice from RC Lens this season.
The incident has raised concerns about fan violence and the safety of players. Nice’s management has condemned the attack, and an investigation is underway.
