The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued a directive ordering all officer cadets, recruits, and personnel who underwent training to settle their outstanding feeding fees by December 31, 2025.

The move comes in response to ongoing funding challenges that have compelled the Service to require trainees to contribute towards their feeding costs during their period of training.

In an official circular signed by Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) A.K.K. Arako-Appiah Jnr., who serves as Director of Finance on behalf of the Chief Fire Officer, the GNFS stated that the directive applies to both officer cadets and other ranks who benefited from training programmes but have not yet completed payment of their feeding fees.

The memo, addressed to all Regional Fire Officers, Commandants, and the Commanding Officer at the Headquarters Training School (Dambai), emphasized that the directive must be strictly complied with across all regions.

The document, referenced NFS/ADMFA017VOL.V1:/107, was officially dated 9th October 2025.

According to the circular, the list of affected personnel has been categorized into two appendices:

Appendix A: Personnel whose outstanding balances will be deducted directly from their bank accounts.

Appendix B: Personnel required to make cash payments for the amounts owed.

Payments, the statement explained, may be made directly at the Salaries Office of the GNFS Headquarters or deposited into the Service’s official account — GNFS Donor Fund Account (Account No. 1018631533176) at the Bank of Ghana, Accra.

Personnel making bank deposits are required to present their pay-in slips at the Salaries Office for clearance and record updates.

The directive further reminded all affected personnel that failure to comply with the December 31, 2025 deadline could result in administrative actions, including salary deductions or other disciplinary measures in line with Service regulations.
