Napoli sold their talisman Kvicha Kvaraskhelia to Paris St Germain in the January transfer window in a deal worth €75M.
The Georgian’s departure has left a big hole in Napoli’s attack with a search for his replacement underway.
Many players have been listed by Antonio Conte’s Napoli as a possible replacement for Kvaraskhelia. Manchester United’s Argentine forward Alejandro Ganarcho has been the man Napoli has been chasing to replace the Georgian attacker.
Manchester United have been demanding a fee of around £60M, but the Italian club are hesitating to pay the fee.
Former AS Roma and Real Madrid forward Antonio Cassano has told Napoli to stop chasing Ganarcho and plan to sign the 2024 African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman, from Atalanta.
“I take €75M for Kvara. I go to Atalanta, I give them €45-50M plus Raspadori, and I take Lookman now because he scores goals, assists, and works for the team,” Cassano said.
Ademola Lookman has become a Grade A forward in Italian football after initially struggling in England and Germany.
“If I have to choose between him and Garnacho, I’ll take Lookman for life. He’s 28 years old, and he was going to PSG in the summer,” Cassano continued.
Ademola Lookman pushed to leave Atalanta to sign for the French champions PSG in the 2024 summer transfer window, but the Italians managed to keep him.
“Garnacho is young and strong, but he’s not always a starter at United, who are in a difficult state and then he has to go to a complicated club where there’s a lot of pressure, where the coach grinds your balls,” Cassano added.
Antonio Conte is a coach who demands more than 10performanceces from his players every day, and Cassano thinks it will not help Ganarcho’s development.
Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has been reported to be on Arsenal’s list after helping the Italians win the 2024-25 Europa League.
