Reverend Israel Eshun, founder of God Host Favour Chapel, has been arrested for burying his son in his church.
The pastor who also operates Yesu Gyemie Herbal Centre is said to have buried his son secretly after doctors asked that his son, who was on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, be taken home for his final moments.
Rev. Israel is said to have hurried ahead of his wife to bury the child in a room within the church premises. His shocked wife, Christian McCarthy, also known as Maame Ama, said she discovered what had happened after asking her husband about their son’s whereabouts. Maame Ama, carrying an eight-month pregnancy, accused his husband of repeated physical abuse. Rev. Eshun was arrested when he attempted to flee.
