The former French defensive midfielder captained his nation during the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 where Les Blues won both trophies.
Many have predicted Zinedine Zidane to be his replacement.
Deschamps leadership has brought back. France to their very best culminating in wining the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and finishing as runer up in the 2016 European Championship. He also led France to second place finishing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
