The head coach of Ghana Premier League leaders, Frimpong Manso, has advised the players of the Ghana national team to change their attitude and show commitment to the Black Stars.
“The players have to change their attitude towards the team,” Frimpong Manso said.
The head coach knows all that it takes to do well for Ghana as he was part of Otto Pfister’s first XI in the 1992 AFCON finals in Senegal Ghana lost 10-11 on penalties against Ivory Coast after the energy-sapping 120 minutes of goalless draw. Frimpong Manso formed a back three with skipper Tony Baffoe and Emmanuel Armah that very day.
When quizzed on the local players’ chances at the Black Stars, the formal Bofoakwa Tano head coach said, “The local players ought to be given a chance. When they get the opportunity, they should make sure that they will impress to win the hearts of the nation,” he added.
“The winner-takes-all game for the 2024 CHAN slot against long-existing rivals, Nigeria, should be a huge opportunity for the local Black Stars to stake a claim that they indeed can play for the senior national team,” Frimpong Manso concluded.
Ghana will play against Angola in matchday 5 of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers on Friday night in Luanda and hosts Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium next Tuesday in Accra.
