Rob Dorsett has followed the Three Lions for a while and he is a trusted source for news about the England national team.

The ace broadcaster for Sky Sports has revelaed that it is very likely that Gareth Southgate will leave his role as the head coach of the Three Lions.

“I fully expect him to leave,” Rob said when speaking to Sky Sports on Monday morning.

Gareth Southgate was applauded when his name was mentioned by the stadium announcer soon before the kick off of the finals.

Compared to the quarter-finals and semi-finals against Switzerland and the Netherlands, when Southgate’s name was mentioned, the Three Lions crowd booed him making him feel very disappointed.

Southgate has been at the helm of the national team since taking over from Big Sam Allardyce in 2016. He has led England to an unprecedented back-to-back European Championship finals.

He finished in the semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. In the 2022 World Cup hosted by Qatar, England lost in the quarter-finals against France.

Gareth Southgate can go down in the history of the Three Lions as their best manager even though he is yet to win a major trophy for England.

England lost 2-1 to Spain at the Berlin Olympiastadion on Sunday in the final of the European Championship. The 58 year wait for trophy continues for England. Will Southgate lead them to the USA-CANADA-MEXICO 2026 World Cup?
