George Afriyie: “I really want to help Kurt OKraku succeed but I will oppose his third-term plans”

George Afriyie, former Ghana Football Association vice president has made it clear that he will oppose any attempt Kurt Okraku will make to continue his disastrous reign as the president of the Ghana Football Association.

In an interview on Asempa FM, George Afriyie revealed his plans if Kurt decides to go for a third term.

“You’ve won, you are ruling, you are the President of the FA, things are not going well, that is not my fault.”

“I really want to help him [Kurt] succeed. I am more than prepared for him to finish his term but he should forget about the proposed amendments of our statutes to go [for] a third term.

“The biggest spender of the GFA is the government of Ghana. I will personally write a petition to the government of Ghana. The government has a say,” George Afriyie said.

GFA laws say that any president can last for only two terms so Kurt Okraku has around three years left on his second term.

Ghana Footfall has been in serious trouble after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the AFCON 2005. The level of football across all ages has been laden with disaster and the nation seriously needs a saviour who certainly is not Kurt.
