The Ghana League Clubs Association is the organiser of the famous Top 4 competition, where the teams that finished within the top four of the previous season compete.

The competition has always been considered by the competing clubs as the final pre-season ahead of the new season.

The 2025 GHALCA Top 4 is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, August 20th, where football fans thought it was going to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium. The organisers have officially disclosed that the venue has been changed to the University of Ghana, the place for the mini tournament.

The competition has been moved because the National Sports Authority are reserving the Accra Sports Stadium for the Black Stars’ crucial World Cup qualifiers against Mali on September 8th 2025.

Who are the competing teams?

Bibiani Gold Stars won the Ghana Premier League, helping them to be the first name on GHALCA’s list. Heart of Lions finished second in the 2024-25 season, hence winning a slot. Perennial giants Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, who finished third and fourth respectively, complete the list.

Teams are still enjoying their pre-seasons and will welcome the Top 4 as the icing on the cake ahead of the imminent new season.
