Bibiani Gold Stars continued their fine form from the 2024-25 season by winning the Top 4 after beating Heart of Lions 4-3 on penalties. The game ended 1-1 in the 90 minutes, with Frimpong Manso’s side carrying the day via the spot kicks.

Ali Fawzi’s 37th-minute strike was enough to help the Kpando-based club take a lead in the first half. After constant pressure from all angles, Heart of Lions scored, showing why they are among the favourites in the upcoming Ghana Premier League.

Bibiani Gold Stars in the second half showed great determination to restore parity, with their constant pressure paying off with just three minutes to go at the end of the game. Samapson Eduku, who joined the Miners in the ongoing transfer window, equalised for Gold Stars.

The game ended 1-1, where the Ghana Premier League champions won 4-3 on penalties to lift the 2025 GHALCA Top title.

Hearts of Oak 2-0 Kotoko

The Super Clash lived up to its billing with Hearts of Oak winning for the first time in two seasons against Asante Kotoko. Mas-Ud Didi Dramani appears to be turning things around for the Phobians after delivering great performances since signing a two-year contract as the head coach.

Hearts of Oak looks much improved in all departments under Didi, and they showed it against Asante Kotoko at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon on Sunday evening.

Former Vision forward Frank Duku opened the scoring in the 5th minute for Hearts of Oak. Kotoko’s poor display in the Top 4 is unbelievable, with the determined Phobians piling more pressure on them.

Substitute Emmanuel Amankwaah in the 73rd minute scored Hearts of Oak’s second goal to put the game beyond the Porcupine Warriors.

Even though the competition is a pre-season but head coach Abdul Karim-Zito will be worried about the attitude and the performances of his team.

Asante Kotoko will face Kwara United of Nigeria in the preliminary round of the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup, where they will need to improve on the top 4 display.

Bibiani Gold Stars won the competition. Hearts of Oka finished second. Heart of Lions finished third while Asante Kotoko finished bottom of the table. The Porcupine Warriors surprisingly lost all three games.
