Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, has told Ghana’s competitors of Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that Ghana is only thinking about herself but not any of the teams.

Ghana sits on top of the group, having won 15 points from the available 18. Comoros sits in second place, 3 points behind the Black Stars, and Madagascar, who are in third place are five points behind Ghana, while the team many thought was going to chase Ghana (Mali) are 4th trailing the Black Stars by 6 points.

In an interview on Metro TV, Henry Asante Twum said, “We know we have to win the rest of our games to confirm qualification to the World Cup and we are focused on doing it.

“We are thinking about ourselves, we are not thinking about who is behind us or any other thing. The most significant thing is to win the remaining games,” Henry added.

Ghana will travel to Chad and host Mali in rounds 7 and 8 of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers as 6 points from the two games will put Ghana on the brink.
